Kelly Clarkson Is Just ‘A Fool in Love’ for This Tina Turner Cover

Kelly Clarkson wonders why she’s “A Fool in Love” for her latest Tina Turner-inspired “Kellyoke” segment on Wednesday (Dec. 2).

She left the chorus up to her trio of background singers while she wailed throughout her bluesy tribute to Turner’s 1960 debut single alongside then-husband Ike. The moody pink and purple polka-dot light panels behind her complemented Clarkson’s colorful floral dress. “And listen, he’s got me smiling when I should be ashamed/ Got me laughin’ when my heart is in pain/ Oh no, I must be a fool/ ‘Cause I’ll do anything he wants me to, now how come?” she cries within the first verse.

Clarkson’s cover of a Tina Turner classic comes in the same week The Voice contestant and Team Kelly member Desz covered Turner’s 1984 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” during the singing competition series’ Live top 17 performance.
