YG’s ‘FDT’ Up 475% in Streams After Joe Biden’s Election Victory

The song, which saw similar sales gains between Nov. 6 and 7, is one of many that surged in streaming on Nov. 7, some due to their usage during Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ speeches Nov. 7 in Delaware, others due to their celebratory nature following their victories.

The next-largest count on Nov. 7, for example, belonged to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA,” which snagged 644,000 streams, an 83% boost from Nov. 6. Kool & the Gang’s “Celebration” (400,000 streams, up 286%), Lizzo’s “Good as Hell” (403,000, up 10%), Kygo and Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” (318,000, up 12%), Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” (317,000, up 25%), Queen’s “We Are the Champions” (313,000, up 92%), Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” (296,000, up 34%), Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” (232,000, up 14%), *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” (199,000, up 23%) and Petty and the Heartbreakers’ “American Girl” (199,000, up 12%) were also among those with sizable increases on Nov. 7.

While their overall volumes were smaller than the titles above, such songs as Dropz’s “F**k Donald Trump” (58,000, up 560%) and iMarkkeyz and DJ Suede the Remix God’s “Lose Yo Job” (39,000, up 586%) also made massive percentage increases, sparked by the election results.

Further gains will be reflected on the Billboard charts dated Nov. 21, covering the streaming and sales tracking weeks running Nov. 6-12.
