World’s Last Blockbuster Is an Airbnb Rental

Physical movie rentals may be a thing of the past, but there is one final Blockbuster location holding on. This summer, the world’s last Blockbuster is partnering with Airbnb for a special initiative, allowing fans to stay in the store for one night.

Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon will be listed on Airbnb beginning August 17. Those who reside locally in Deschutes County can request to book the store for one of the three individual, one-night reservations that are scheduled for September 18, 19, and 20. The rental fee for your very own movie marathon sleepover is just $4.

The Blockbuster location will be transformed into a ’90s-themed living room, as store manager Sandi Harding will stock the shelves with any movie you could want.

Due to COVID-19, guests must be from the same household in Deschutes County, as to minimize risk of the virus. Once the three Airbnb stays are over, however, customers can check out the living room set-up during store hours for a limited time.

Booking for the Blockbuster Airbnb begins August 17 at 1 p.m. PST. In the meantime, you can check out the listing here.
