Drake to Executive Produce New Series ’48 Laws of Power’

After reviving British crime drama Top Boy, Drake is setting his sights on another series. Mobile video platform Quibi has announced that Drake will be executive producing a new show titled 48 Laws of Power.

48 Laws of Power is based on Robert Greene’s New York Times best-selling book of the same name. The series will delve into the nature of power and how it can be secured and maintained. Each episode centers around a different law of power.

Drake is set to executive produce the series alongside Adel “Future” Nur and Jason Shrier of Dreamcrew, while Robert Greene will also be an executive producer, in addition to Zack Hayden of Anonymous Content, who is serving as the studio. Drake will be directing an episode of the show as well.

“When Drake and I sat down with Robert Greene it was incredibly inspiring,” said Future. “The laws allow for a wide range of dynamic storytelling and Quibi allows us to tell these stories in bite-sized chapters similar to the book.”

Greene added, “I have always thought that The 48 Laws of Power would be a perfect fit for a series, bringing to life the timeless Machiavellian game of power as portrayed in the book. But it was not until Drake and Future with Anonymous Content approached me with their unique cinematic approach to the laws that I knew I could join forces with them and go all in for a filmed interpretation of my work.”

Quibi has yet to announce a release date for 48 Laws of Power. The streaming platform itself launches April 6.
