After months of leaks and a quick teaser on Virgil Abloh’s Instagram story, we finally got an official look at the long-rumored and highly-anticipated Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 5 during Off-White™’s Paris Fashion Week FW20 show.
Abloh’s take on the Nike Air Jordan 5 features a synthetic ripstop upper with a fully-reflective silver tongue and circular windows around the mid panel and ankle collar. The material on the upper looks similar to the Hyperfuse material Nike used on its basketball silhouettes in the early to mid 2010s. The sneakers also arrive with the customary zip-tie and Off-White™ text branding.
The Off-White™ and Louis Vuitton creative head is known to debut the crown jewels of his Nike collaborations at Paris Fashion Week, having done so previously with the Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 1s.
The Nike Air Jordan 5 is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and Jordan Brand is expected to be releasing a number of special collaborations and OG colorways, one of which will be the Abloh-designed iteration above.
The black colorway had previously been leaked online by various leak accounts, while a second, cream-colored version is also rumored to drop sometime this year, though that was not unveiled during the show in Paris.
It will likely be a while before the sneaker is officially released, so stay tuned for updates regarding release information.
