Elon Musk Says Tesla’s Fourth Gigafactory Will Be in Berlin

As Tesla is nearing completion of its third Gigafactory located in close proximity to Shanghai, Elon Musk announces that the company’s fourth Gigafactory will be constructed just outside Berlin.

Tesla’s first Gigafactory opened near Reno, Nevada in 2016, although it is still under construction, while the second, located in Buffalo, New York, was recently valued at more than $800 million.

Musk has been hinting at building a Gigafactory in Europe for a while now. He’s also revealed that he plans to open anywhere from 10 to 12 locations around the world.

Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory is expected to be operational by 2021, producing Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossovers.
