Frank Ocean just dropped his second single of 2019, “In My Room.” The track follows up on last week’s “DHL,” and sees the artist show off his rapping abilities once again.
Over a self-produced catchy hip-hop beat, Ocean drops braggadocious lines about his jewelry and excessive spending. “Fuck it I’m pretty still, look at my grill,” he raps in the first verse. The track takes its title from the outro, where Frank returns to his typically emotional lyricism as he sings about libertine encounters with a lover. “Every night you were in my room,” he sings, “I guess I can’t state my feelings too soon.” Listen to the track below.
Frank Ocean has been previewing new music lately at his PrEP+ club nights. At the latest installment he debuted a new collaborative song with Skepta.
