Colin Kaepernick‘s representatives recently issued a statement that addresses several rumors surrounding their clients.
Almost three years have passed since Colin Kaepernick has seen field time on an NFL team, after he opted out of his San Francisco 49ers contract at the beginning of the 2017 season. Kaepernick famously took a knee during the American national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice, and has remained unsigned throughout the rest of the season. He also filed a grievance against the NFL, making a case that he was being blacklisted due to his political beliefs.
Kaepernick’s agent Jeff Nailey and his PR director Jasmine Windham issued a statement headlined “Facts to Address The False Narratives Regarding Colin Kaepernick,” which touches on the athlete’s fitness, ongoing negotiations, and additional rumors. As the sheet states, Kaepernick retains the “6th best ratio in NFL history among QBs with at least 70TDs, directly ahead of Derek Carr (7th), Drew Brees (8th), and Matt Ryan (9th).”
