Lil Peep’s Mother Sues Rapper’s Management Over His Death

The mother of rapper Lil Peep has filed a lawsuit against the artist’s management in relation to his 2017 fatal overdose.

As reported by The New York Times, the mother, Liza Womack, has filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday. Womack is claiming that Lil Peep’s agency, First Access Entertainment, pushed the rapper to perform non-stop while “fostering, promoting, and encouraging” the rapper’s drug habit. The rapper’s mother is seeking damages for negligence, breach of contract, and wrongful death.

The late rapper’s agency issued a statement on Tuesday night, calling the claims “categorically untrue,” while describing Lil Peep’s untimely death as a “terrible tragedy,” also adding that their staff encouraged him to stop using. The rapper had been signed to the label when he was 19 and was under a three-year deal.

In 2017, Lil Peep passed away at the age of 21 due to an opioid overdose while on a tour bus in Tucson, Arizona.
