Following last year’s reopening of the original location in Santa Monica, Nike‘s Blue Ribbon Sports is launching a series of pop-ups this month. The temporary store is coming to Santa Monica, Chicago, and New York City in the form of a Volkswagen Buzz Cargo, an all-electric version of the bus used by Jeff Johnson to deliver product throughout Los Angeles in the 1960s.
Customers will have the opportunity to buy exclusive BRS footwear, learn about the history of Nike, and donate used shoes to Reuse-A-Shoe. Sneakers like the Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 and Cortez will be on sale at the pop-up. Highlighting Nike heritage, the Pegasus commemorates the first address of Blue Ribbon Sports with detailing on the heel, while the Cortez features the signature orange palate, BRS logo, and founding year of 1972.
The Blue Ribbon Sports pop-up comes to Santa Monica October 5, before making its way to Chicago October 12 and New York City October 15.
