Jun Takahashi looks to the running revolution of the 1970s as inspiration for the latest Nike GYAKUSOU collection. A bold rebel spirit was ever-present during that time as individuals began running for more intangible benefits as opposed to solely for competition.
Contrary to previous Nike GYAKUSOU collection’s FW19 switches gears from urban running to trails. The seasonal assortment centers around the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail, a crossover trainer that is at home both on the road and trail. In addition to the shoe, the capsule consists of six apparel items ranging from a rain top with a zip-off hood, to a long-sleeve top, two short-sleeve tops, shorts, and multifunctional pants.
The FW19 Nike GYAKUSOU Peg Trail shoe is offered in two colorways referencing the duality of the sneaker. Takahashi hints at his balance/chaos ethos by implementing a rose with beautiful petals and sharp thorns on the Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail. The upper of the shoe is largely crafted from mesh and treated with a water-repellent coating.
Jun Takahashi’s latest Nike GYAKUSOU is scheduled to launch September 26.
