By now, September is practically synonymous with iPhones. After announcing Apple Arcade, Apple Watch, and Apple TV+ at their annual September keynote, Apple has officially unveiled their next flagship, the iPhone 11.
The iPhone 11 will featuring a 6.1 liquid retina display and new camera system. Design wise the models look almost identical to last years Xs lineup, beside a new aluminum glass body and camera bump lineup.Yes, the notch is still present. The phone will also come in either green, yellow, purple, white, black, and red.
The dual camera system features a new 12mp wide lens, 26mm f/1.8 and an ultra wide 12mp f/2.4 sensor. The system software will feature semantic rendering to help detect subjects in the lens, a new night mode for better low-light photography, and more effects for portrait mode. On the video side, the iPhone 11 captures “highest quality video in a smartphone” says Apple at 4K 60 fps.
The front facing camera has also received an update 12MP TrueDepth front-facing camera, which can also deliver 4K video capturing and slow-mo mode, which Apple is calling “slofie”. We’ll never say that again.
As usual, the phone will also featuring ta next generation processor, the A13 Bionic chip. It’s CPU is the “fastest in any smartphone”, says Apple, alongside the fastest GPU. How does this affect the battery? Well Apple unveils that the iPhone 11 will have an 1 hour more of screen on time than the iPhone Xs and “all-day battery life”.
The iPhone 11 will start at a surprisingly $699, which is very affordable for Apple smartphone prices, and will be available September 20.
