Photographer Benedict Redgrove gives us an exclusive look at NASA‘s vast product archive. His book NASA: Past and Present Dreams of the Future has been 9 years in the making and is a unique and powerful tribute to the pioneers of space exploration. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, the book breathtakingly documents hundreds and hundreds of incredible, never-before-seen technology and objects.

“These objects have come to signify human achievements,” Redgrove said of the archival material, “The image of the astronaut, or spaceman has been with me ever since, as a sort of talisman to all that is great and good. They symbolise the explorer, the hero, the good character, the leader.” The culmination of nine year’s worth of work gives us fascinating insights into the US space program and an organization that is otherwise shrouded in mystery.

NASA: Past and Present Dreams of the Future is available to purchase here. The stunning collection of photos will also be on exhibition in London in late October. You can check out a preview above.
