Clarks Originals and Wu Wear are back together again following last year’s collaboration, reworking the iconic Wallabee for a second time. Here, the Wallabee is offered in a trio of colorways inspired by lyrics from two tracks — “Ice Cream” and “Glaciers of Ice” — from Wu-Tang member Raekwon’s debut album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx….
“French-vanilla, butter-pecan, chocolate-deluxe. Even caramel sundaes is getting touched. And scooped in my ice cream truck, Wu tears it up,” Method Mad raps on the hook for “Ice Cream,” while the intro to “Glaciers of Ice” goes like: “Just imagine if you buy, woo! Check it out. Just imagine you bought navy blue, right. A navy blue, a navy blue pair right, boom. Of this, of this shit, know what I’m saying? But dyed get this dyed cream on top. Just imagine that color like. But you got it dripping like it’s marble cake like.”
Playing on a theme of melting, swirling ice cream, the Wu Wear x Clarks Wallabees are showcased in luxe suede courtesy of Clarks’ tannery partner, Charles F Stead. The brand’s natural crepe sole is then featured on the navy and maple colorways, while a honey spray tone draws attention to the sole of the brown iteration. Lastly, the water and stain-resistant Wallabees welcome leather trims and full leather lining, with the iconic Wu-Tang logo on the heel band fob.
