Earlier today we found out that Louis Vuitton is currently the most valuable luxury brand. Now according to BrandZ’s top 100 most valuable brands for 2019, Amazon has surpassed Apple and Google to become the world’s most valuable brand.
Amazon experienced massive growth from 2018 to 2019, adding 52 percent to its value, which is currently $315.5 billion.
“It’s doubtful that any of us predicted that this company would sell so much more online, transforming retail—and other categories—in just a couple of decades,” said David Roth, CEO of The Store WPP, when speaking on this year’s ranking. “I’m sure that none of us imagined that the founder would create other businesses, including one to launch tourists into space…Amazon is a serial disruptor.”
While best known for its e-commerce business, Amazon has consistently diversified its portfolio, as it is now a frontrunner in Cloud computing and home hardware. The company has also invested in other businesses including an electric truck startup called Rivian and UK food delivery company Deliveroo.
