The New York Giants have traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster trade.
The move has shocked Giants fans, as OBJ signed a 5 year $95 million contract extension last year, which made him the highest paid receiver in the NFL. Back in January, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman said, “We didn’t sign Odell to trade him. That’s all I need to say about that.”
Browns fans, however, are delighted. OBJ was rated the third best wide receiver in 2018, and his joining the team will greatly increase the Browns’ likelihood of regular wins. The team hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2002. The trade will also see the 26-year-old reunited with his close friend and LSU teammate, Jarvis Landry.
