Just ahead of the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show kicking off later this week, Lamborghini has introduced its all-new drop-top Aventador SVJ Roadster. It utilizes a two-piece removable carbon-fiber hard-top that is stored in the front trunk when not in use.

Design-wise, the supercar boasts the familiar Aventador aesthetic with its sleek and aggressive angular profile composed of ultra-light carbon fiber, along with accentuated aerodynamic enhancements and a lighter and higher-mounted exhaust system. The SVJ Roadster incorporates the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 engine from the coupe, which churns 770 horsepower. The company claims the vehicle can go from zero to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, while the top speed hits at 217 mph.

Inside, more carbon fiber is utilized throughout, alongside leather and the suede-like Alcantara material that is prominent on the doors, seats, central tunnel and console system. Additionally, meticulous cross-stitching details and notable presence of the SVJ Roadster internal plate further exude the superb craftsmanship applied to the vehicle’s overall makeup. The cabin also features a digital instrument cluster, GPS navigation and Apple CarPlay compatibility. When the roof is removed, there is a small rear window that can be raised or lowered at the press of a button.

Other notable performance enhancements on the Aventador SVJ Roadster is its active aerodynamics system by adjusting the position of the front splitter and carbon fiber rear wing. Lamborghini explained that the right or left side of the wing can be adjusted to increase downforce and traction. Furthermore, the supercar is equipped with rear wheel steering, carbon ceramic brakes and a magneto rheological suspension with anti-roll bars.

Production of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster will be limited to 800 units and pricing starts at $573,966. More details can be found on Lamborghini’s website now.
