Editor’s Notes: Following a line of extra-chunky skate shoes in collaboration with DC, Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro has now released an interesting spin on a Spring/Summer staple.
Yasuhiro’s reinvented sandals come with skiing-inspired features such as padded straps plus buckle and hook-and-loop closures, as well as luxurious leather insoles, and an Air-Max-like midsole.
The sandals are a testament to the designer’s unexpected fusions of textures and silhouettes, contributing to a grungy yet urban design. Available in all-black, the unusual footwear is now available to shop at luxury retailer SSENSE with a price tag of $445.
