All eyes are on Paris as Fashion Week takes over the French capital. Head to our Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019 hub to find all the latest news from the industry’s best houses, brands, and designers.
In what was one of the bigger sneaker stories to emerge from Paris Fashion Week Men’s, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME Plus unveiled its punk-inspired Nike Air Jordan 1 on the FW19 runway.
The sneaker was done up in black leather and featured an extended tongue with Jumpman-embossed branding. An exaggerated ankle strap, reminiscent of the Air Force 1 High, and metallic silver detailing and studs added to the shoe’s gothic vibe.
It’s currently unclear whether the shoe was a custom made specifically for the runway show or if we’ll see the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME Plus x Nike Air Jordan 1 hit stores at a later date. Rei Kawakubo’s label does have a long history of unveiling Nike sneaker collaborations on the runway, however, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see these confirmed for an official release.
As always, stay tuned for more. In the meantime, check out the sneaker in detail above.
Elsewhere in Paris, another sneaker collab to be revealed was Vetements’ new Reebok kick.
