Brand: Danilo Paura

Season: Fall/Winter 2019

Key Pieces: Leather track suits, long shearling jackets, and faux-fur coats are perfectly cast in this refurbished Milanese theatre.

Editor’s Notes: Danilo Paura’s FW19 collection debuted in the Teatro Gerolamoa, a refurbished theater in central Milan. The collection comprised a mix of colorful streetwear and sporty styles. The wonderfully eclectic ensembles included puffers, zebra-print trousers and scarves, knits, and a pinstripe suit.

Titled, “Gypsy Tour,” the “collection wishes to give importance and beauty to every moment of the daily routine.” Paura matches precious fabrics with contemporary acid green and bright blue tones to create a unique bohemian streetwear aesthetic.

Next to gorgeous argyle prints, mohair sweaters are layered under puffers and bright silk scarves to produce a hybrid sense of luxury and shabbiness that speaks to Paura’s intention to, “escape the ordinary.”

Accessories such as the cowboys boots, made in collaboration with Raparo, reflect a consistent aesthetic code, while fringed foulard bandanas evoke a punk-infused youthfulness. Paura has managed to strike an impressive and distinct balance between sporty silhouettes and luxurious fabrics that is particularly well placed for transitional months.
