Key Pieces: The outerwear range is solid, specifically the matching printed denim jacket, hoodie and jeans. The long trench, pinstripe shirt jacket, utility vest and other shirts in printed and colorblock iterations are other notable standouts.
Editor’s Notes: After showcasing a preview of its “friEND of America” SS19 collection this past summer, Los Angeles-based label 424 is back to deliver the accompanying lookbook.
Depicting the brand’s elevated streetwear aesthetic, the collection encompasses a variety of jackets, hoodies, tees, shirts, shorts, pants and more, which designer Guillermo Andrade looked at death of the American Dream for inspiration.
Andrade’s interpretation of the theme and current US landscape is prominent in a few pieces such as photographic prints on hoodies, pants and canvas jackets depicting a clean image of American living, which is then distorted towards the bottom of the silhouette. In addition, classic patterns like red tartan and pinstripes, along with distinctive 424 branding solidify the stylistic elements of the collection.
