On Tuesday December 11, Disney and Detroit-based design and manufacturing company, Shinola, are set to drop the never-before-released, “Limited Edition Pie-Eyed Mickey Runwell 41mm” in 18 karat gold. The watch will be exclusively available on StockX.
The grail-worthy timepiece features 703 quartz movement, a polished 18k yellow gold case, and black alligator leather strap. And for those playing at home, the watch also comes with a special “How to Draw Mickey” sketchbook and a framed serigraph of the famous character signed by Disney artist Jeff Shelly with a certificate of authenticity – so you know it’s legit.
The design speaks to the strengths of both brands, marrying Disney’s iconic hero with Shinola’s impeccable product construction. On the clean white dial we see a sketch of Mickey as he first appears in The Karnival Kid, as well as the Shinola Detroit logo. This exclusive release is an extension of the Shinola x Disney Mickey Classics Collection, the special-edition five-piece collection commemorating Mickey Mouse’s 90th Anniversary.
