Editor’s Notes: After the release of its M2K Tekno in “summit white,” “team orange,” and “mountain blue” for women, Nike is apparently dropping the sneaker in men’s sizing. When we got our first look at the women’s kick, it was unofficially dubbed the “John Elliott” colorway after debuting on the designer’s runway in February. However, it is now dubbed “Techno Future” on Nike’s website.
Previously only available in women’s sizing, Nike UK’s website lists the sneaker as the M2K Tekno, whereas it usually uses “WMNS” to signal that a sneaker is a women’s exclusive. This leads us to believe the sneaker will finally drop in men’s sizes — as promised by Nike earlier in the year.
The shoe’s design draws inspiration from original 2002 Air Monarch, playing with the sneaker’s chunky sole and thick heel for a now ubiquitous “dad shoe” look. As well as the colorway’s three main hues, there is additional black detailing throughout, including on one of two mini Swooshes, the midsole, heel tab, and tongue.
The kicks will be available to cop at Nike online on August 16 at 9:00 a.m. CEST (3 a.m. EDT) with a retail price of €100 (approximately $113).
