Samsung Reveals That Sales Are “Slow” for the Galaxy S9

Despite reportedly having faster internet speeds than Apple’s iPhone X, the Samsung Galaxy S9 isn’t selling as well as the Korean electronics giant had hoped.

The company has released its quarterly earnings report, and while it made a net profit of 11.04 trillion Korean won (approximately $9.8 billion) in the second quarter of 2018, revenue was down 4 percent year on year.

According to Samsung, the dip in sales is due to “softer sales of smartphones and display panels,” including the latest Galaxy S9, which the company says has had “slow” sales. The report states that Samsung’s display business was also hit by “weak demand” for flexible OLED screens (like the ones used on the iPhone X), but added, “OLED sales are expected to rebound on recovering demand for flexible displays.”

In other tech news, these are apparently the dummy models of Apple’s next iPhone.
