In what feels like a match made in heaven, Ventura, California-based Patagonia is partnering with Portland, Oregon’s Danner Boots on what will be the former’s first-ever collaboration. The pairing was announced by Patagonia at the ICAST trade show in Florida in earlier this month.

The duo will team up on a wading boot that, according to Patagonia, will last you a lifetime. The Foot Tractor wading boot — a name Patagonia has used in the past for its wading boots — is optimized for fly fishing and wading around on slippery riverbeds. Both companies are heralded outdoor brands: Patagonia makes all sorts of gear for outdoor activities ranging from fly fishing to climbing, while Danner is best known for its rugged hiking boots.

The boot employs a stitch-down construction that allows it to be re-soled and reconstructed after years of use, which is a Danner Boots signature. Its upper is constructed using a blend of tanned waterproof full-grain leather and tough 1000 Denier nylon.

That high-quality construction, paired with the fact the boots are made at Danner’s factory in Portland, comes with a price. The Foot Tractor will reportedly retail for between $499 and $549 depending on whether or not you outfit it with aluminum gripping bars on the sole.

According to Patagonia’s YouTube channel, the wading boot will be available in February 2019.

In other news, Vans’ sales continue to rise, which is great news for the skate brand. Read more on that here.
