The Supermarket is an ever-changing retail concept that curates one-off shopping experiences alongside intimate trunk shows and exhibitions in Paris, New York, and the ultra-rich holiday destination of Porto Cervo. Located on the northern coast of Sardinia, the town only has an official population of 421 inhabitants, but is a hot-spot for high-rolling holiday makers and their enormous yachts.
A self-styled “four-story blank canvas,” the Porto Cervo outpost of The Supermarket has for the summer invited a trio of nouveau luxury labels from California to take over the space, in a project curated by Italian retail insider Andrea Brugnoni. Dubbed Piccola LA, the pop-up allows west coast labels The Elder Statesman, Nick Fouquet and No.One to tap into a highly lucrative market of ultra-rich holiday makers.
The Elder Statesman specializes in fine cashmere, and recently collaborated with Highsnobiety to celebrate the launch of our High End documentary exploring the USA’s thriving market for premium cannabis products.
Artisanal milliner (aka hat-maker) Nick Fouquet brings his handmade creations to the space, as does No.One, a SoCal label that applies traditional shoemaking techniques to contemporary sneaker silhouettes.
All three brands are available at the Piccola LA experience, which is open now at Supermarket Porto Cervo, until Saturday, July 28. Be sure to stop by if you’re in the area.
