Today Gucci and Dapper Dan have released their first-ever collaborative collection, available online and at select Gucci flagships. The assortment, created with Gucci materials, consists of ready-to-wear styles and accessories, pulling inspiration from Dan’s archives.
To further showcase the capsule, Gucci has selected photographer Ari Marcopoulos to highlight a cast of characters, including the young faces of Harlem, paying homage to the designer’s New York roots. At the core, the lookbook is a nod to archival imagery from the ’80s, set throughout the neighborhood and beyond.
Gucci’s go-to fabrics can thus be seen on tracksuits and jackets, while the fashion house’s signature green and red stripes are prevalent throughout the range. Embroidered dragons, GG print, and even a new Gucci logo account for additional details noted on bombers, T-shirts, tank tops, and more.
Accessory standouts include all-over printed backpacks, thick gold chains, bedazzled glasses, sneakers, slides, and multiple headwear options.
