Key Looks: The latest lookbook from Los Angeles’ Band of Outsiders has some summer bangers. This season’s key looks can be seen in slide #15, which shows a dual-tone plaid print suit in gray and yellow accessorized with a bucket hat. Also, the short-sleeve shirts in slides #2 and #8 feature an airy natural drape for the hotter weather, with a roman bust print by artist Amit Greenberg.
Editor’s Notes: When we spoke to Band of Outsiders design director Angelo Van Mol and brand director Daniel Hettmann, the pair described how this collection (their fourth with Band of Outsiders) took shape.
“We felt that casual tailoring is a very tangible trend, which predominantly has its roots in Italy with its recognizable soft shoulder constructions and lightweight tailoring,” they told us via email. “For SS19, we took the essence of that and placed it in the theme of an Italian school trip where some of the kids take off with their fathers’ suits. This resulted in some oversized tailoring suits and shorts, all made in some of the finest Italian fabrics.”
The SS19 collection also features a collaboration with Sergio Tacchini in the shape of a classic athletic sneaker designed in 10 different pastel colors to match the tracksuits.
