In The Young Pope, Law starred as the fictional first American pope, who is stubbornly resistant to the Vatican stewards. Diane Keaton, Silvio Orlando, and James Cromwell joined Law in the 10-part series.
For now, there are little details surrounding The New Pope and Malkovich’s involvement, as production is scheduled to begin in Italy in November. The Young Pope‘s Paolo Sorrentino, Umberto Contarello, and Stefano Bises have been tasked to write the season, which will be produced by Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani.
In related news, ‘The Purge’ is getting its own TV series.
