Cardi B Is the First Female Rapper With Multiple Billboard Hot 100 Number One Hits

Cardi B already surpassed Beyoncé with the most simultaneous Billboard Hot 100 entries, and with the recent release of her latest single, “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin already at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, the accomplishment has now cemented her as the first female rapper with two number one singles. She first reigned with her debut hit, “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” for three weeks in October 2017, reports Billboard.

Additionally, according to music news Twitter account @chartdata, Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, is the first female artist album to produce multiple number one singles since Taylor Swift’s 1989.

The Bronx rapper also joins four other female rappers to grace the top spot with Lauryn Hill for “Doo Wop (That Thing),” Lil Kim with “Lady Marmalade,” Shawnna with Ludacris for “Stand Up,” and Iggy Azealia for “Fancy.”
