‘Rick and Morty’ Creator Promises Long Waits Between Seasons Are Over

Good news, Rick and Morty fans — the torturous wait between seasons will hopefully now be a thing of the past, show co-creator Justin Roiland told Polygon.

As lovers of the mind-warping intergalactic adventure will agree, the huge gap between seasons is one of the most frustrating things about the show, with the wait between seasons two and three dragging on for 18 months, for example. Of course, good things come to those who wait, and despite the barren stretches between seasons, the show has always delivered.

With a huge 70-episode order coming in from Adult Swim last month, the network obviously agrees. Now Roiland feels that he and co-creator Dan Harmon have the breathing space they need to concentrate on Season 4. “We‘re super excited that, for the first time ever, we’re locked in, we know what the future is, we have job security,” he told Polygon. “Harmon is in great spirits, we have a great writer’s room.

“We want the episodes to stay good, but we do also want to try to turn them around a little quicker now that we have this big order, I think it gives us the ability to be faster. We’re not going to do these long breaks, these chasms in between seasons anymore. We’re going to schedule vacation time and just keep the machine going. It’s going to be really cool.”

Are you stoked for another 70 episodes of Rick and Morty? And not having to wait so long for them? Let us know in the comments.
