Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has left Twitter after being used as a homophobic meme. Under the hashtag #takedownmilliebobbybrown, users have been posting fake stories of encounters with the actor, suggesting she used homophobic slurs against them.

The meme also includes images of the young star with added text purported to be written by Brown. Below are some examples of the meme, complete with unpleasant language.

The meme, with its clearly false stories and quotations, appears to be an attempt at satire, the idea being that the 14-year-old actor is probably the least likely candidate to dole out homophobic abuse to strangers. The Twitter users involved appear to be mostly from the LGBT community. The star herself has never shared any anti-LGBT sentiments and has supported GLAAD’s Together movement.

Since the memes came to prominence and Brown deactivated her Twitter account, fans have been calling out those who made the memes.
