SZA Performed “The Weekend” at Her High School


SZA went back to school earlier this week, as Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey voted her into their hall of fame. The R&B star graduated in 2008 when she was known as Solana Imani Rowe, and according to her acceptance speech, she didn’t go to prom back in the day because she wasn’t popular enough to have a date.

In addition to shouting out her art teacher, encouraging students to design their own world, and asserting, “you are never too young to trust yourself,” she performed “The Weekend” from her 2017 album Ctrl. Despite recent concerns about the state of her vocal chords, she’s still killing it. Check out footage from the event below.
