We're excited to announce the launch of our @Umbro × CR capsule collection. In a project celebrating Umbro’s indelible links with English football’s history, we meticulously deconstructed and remade original Umbro England shirts, creating an iconic, authentic range of archetypes. – With craft, quality and innovation at the heart of the project, these archetypes have then been replicated in fully recycled materials. This creates a new capsule collection in which each piece features an entirely unique print – meaning no two garments will ever be the same. Editor’s Notes: English football fans have been gifted a healthy dose of nostalgia via this collaborative collection from Umbro and award-winning British designer Christopher Raeburn.
The two British labels have joined forces to create a capsule that embraces Raeburn’s “remade, reduced, recycled” aesthetic, and champions Umbro’s one-time association with the England national team. Deconstructing jerseys from 1996 to 2010, the garments serve up sentimentality for England fans eager to recall an 18-year-old Michael Owen’s wonder goal against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup and 2001’s 5-1 destruction of Germany in a World Cup qualifier in Munich.
Sporting red, white, grey, and blue colorways, pieces have been disassembled and restructured to create playful takes on iconic England uniforms. The garments are made from organic cotton and recycled blend.
