Serena Williams’ Nike Bodysuit Was the Real Winner at the French Open

Serena Williams made a knockout return to court at the French Open, some nine months after giving birth to her daughter and 16 months since her last match. But as Williams beat Kristyna Pliskova in straight sets, fans were even more excited about what she was wearing.

Williams’ Nike bodysuit stole the show. The suit, which Williams called the “catsuit — the new version, 2.0” in reference to a previous bodysuit worn at the 2002 U.S. Open, is a sleek black affair with a red waistband and Nike branding on the chest.

Taking to Twitter, the 23-time grand slam winner acknowledged the suit was, “For all the moms out there who had a tough recovery from pregnancy,” adding, “If I can do it, so can you.”

As you can imagine, waves of support flooded in, with users likening her “Wakanda-inspired” (in Williams’ own words) outfit to that of a superhero and proclaiming her the G.O.A.T. — which, let’s be honest, she probably is. Check out some reactions below.

What are your thoughts on Williams’ latest bodysuit? And is she the G.O.A.T.? Drop a line in the comments below.
