Just over a week ago, allegations of abuse emerged about Brockhampton member Ameer Vann. Vann was accused by multiple women of emotional abuse and sleeping with underage fans.

This morning, Brockhampton member Kevin Abstract went live on Instagram to address the allegations for the first time. Despite the band “working really hard on the album,” forthcoming album PUPPY is likely to have its release pushed back. PUPPY was set to drop in June, following last year’s Saturation, Saturation II, and Saturation III.

“We’re probably gonna push the album back but I still want a single to come out next month,” Abstract said. “Having to deal with family problems in front of the world is very difficult, and I’m sorry if this isn’t enough. It’s heavy and I also understand if you’re mad and completely over it. I should have said something, I shouldn’t have been quiet for so long.”

“I don’t agree with anything Ameer has admitted to. He’s been getting help for over the past year,” Abstract continued, before adding that he has “never seen Ameer hurt anyone” and emphasizing that Brockhampton “hold each other accountable for any mistake.” Abstract then previewed PUPPY’s first track, “Ready for War.”

Vann had previously responded to the allegations via Twitter, writing that he has “fucked up and disrespected my partners. I’ve cheated and been dismissive to my exes.”

However, he denies any criminal behavior: “In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: although my behavior has been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries. I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody’s consent.”
