Ty Dolla $ign Talks ‘Beach House 3’ & His New Mixtape with Jeremih

Nearly halfway through 2018, Ty Dolla $ign is killing it on the features front, dropping in on Post Malone’s “Psycho”, Tinashe’s “Me So Bad”, and 21 Savage’s “Clout”, to name a few. Surprisingly, it seems as though the multitalented L.A. musician’s 2017 album Beach House 3 flew largely under the radar, despite being some of Ty Dolla $ign’s most intriguing work to date.

The FADER was lucky enough to catch up with Ty Dolla $ign about the unfolding of his near decade-long career on the advent of the release of Beach House 3 Deluxe, his approach to music, and how 2018 is treating him so far.

When asked about his collaborative mixtape with Jeremih called MihTy, expected to drop next month, Ty had this to say about his approach: “I just do music. And I study music and it doesn’t matter what situation you throw me in, I’ll be able to snap. I put my sauce on whatever it is. Since I’ve been a sponge to all different types of music, it’s just going to come out exactly the way it’s supposed to sound because I’m not like forcing anything on it, and I’m just giving it exactly what it is.”

He also – amazingly – responded to a question regarding his extremely intense work output with “If the shit bangs, man, and I catch a vibe then I’m going to just knock the shit out.”
