Louis Vuitton has partnered with FIFA since 2010, creating the travel case for the illustrious World Cup trophy. For this year’s tournament in Russia, the luxury fashion house is kicking things up a notch by presenting an entire leather goods collection.
The licensed product draws inspiration from the official match ball of the 1970 FIFA World Cup, as the capsule includes variations of Keepall and Apollo bags, as well as a selection of smaller leather items. The majority of the styles are offered in three colorways, each constructed from Louis Vuitton’s iconic Epi leather. Reminiscent of a classic football (soccer ball), the featured hexagon design is based on LV’s historic savoir-faire, with each color hexagon boasting a textured feel.
A more exclusive “Made-to-Order” Keepall is then showcased in eight pentagon hues, associated with the colors of almost any national flag. To complement, an Epi leather luggage tag can be embossed with any of the 35 participating flags.
Louis Vuitton’s 2018 FIFA World Cup collection will be available from June 15 to July 15 in select LV stores and online.
In related news, BAPE and adidas Originals also joined forces for a celebratory World Cup delivery.
