A Michael Jordan Documentary Is Coming to Netflix With 500 Hours of New Footage

While Michael Jordan’s life has been dissected on multiple levels, ESPN and Netflix are partnering on a forthcoming, 10-hour documentary which promises to be the most extensive look at His Airness to date.

Titled, “The Last Dance,” the film will be directed by filmmaker, Jason Hehir, who recently released his wonderful look at the life and career of Andre the Giant, and also has solid 30 for 30 films under his belt like “The Fab Five” and “The ‘85 Bears.”

Operating with full cooperation from Jordan himself, key figures from the Bulls’ championship teams, and other luminaries from basketball and beyond, the film will draw from 500-hours of never-before-seen-footage from the 1997-98 championship season – which marked the end of the Bulls dynasty – and the Chicago-based exploits of the six-time NBA champion, six–time NBA Finals MVP, and five–time regular season MVP.

While there is no official release date mentioned, hoop fans can expect the film to hit their Netflix queue in 2019.
