Having built up a notable reputation for its long list of collaborations, from Marvel to Takashi Murakami-designed Doraemon capsules, Uniqlo UT has now teamed up with McDonald’s to celebrate the Big Mac’s 50th anniversary.
It’s hard to fathom that a single thing, let alone a burger has become so iconic, that it is now worthy of it’s own celebratory capsule, but it seems that if anything lasts 50 years in today’s ever-transient industry, it also deserves some form of recognition.
The range of graphic T-shirts ascend from colors of iconic red and yellow, into more neutral white, gray, and black options. With each piece emblazoned with eye-catching grahics, lamenting the Big Mac’s milestone achievement, Japanese customers are said to receive a Big Mac coupon upon purchase. Whether this offer will extend to other parts of the world remains to be seen.
The collection will be made available on Uniqlo’s Japanese store later this month.
