Game of Thrones is not only well known for its abundance of nudity, but also, epic battles. According to Complex, the famed HBO series recently spent 55 nights shooting one such battle scene for season eight.
News of the intense filming broke when Game of Thrones assistant director Jonathan Quinlan uploaded a picture of a thank you card that was given to the cast and crew. The note reads: “This is for the Night Dragons. For enduring 55 straight nights. For enduring the cold, the snow, the rain, the mud, the sheep shit of Toome and the winds of Magheramorne. When tens of millions of people around the world watch this episode a year from now, they won’t know how hard you worked. They won’t care how tired you were or how tough it was to do your job in sub-freezing temperatures. They’ll just understand that they’re watching something that’s never been done before. And that’s because of you.”

Following, Quinlan deleted the post, but not before GoT fan site Watchers on the Wall came through with a screenshot.
In comparison, the show’s “Battle of the Bastards” scene with Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton from season six took 25 days to film, Complex points out. Nonetheless, we’ll all have to wait until next year to witness the product of such tiresome shooting surrounding season eight.
